The support for markdown on BiodiversityCatalogue has been realized through the RedCarpet gem

Below is a quick guide taken from the full syntax of the RedCarpet rubygem 

There are some configurable parameters that may be enabled or disabled on request that can be found here 

Annotations that support Markdown are indicated by the black markdown icon
